Partick Thistle have sacked manager Gary Caldwell.
The ex-Celtic skipper had been in charge at Firhill since last season.
However the board opted to release him from his deal earlier this afternoon.
A spokesperson for the club said: "Earlier today, the board of Partick Thistle Football Club informed manager Gary Caldwell that his contract has been terminated with immediate effect.
"A further update will be provided later today."
Caldwell leaves his post with Thistle second from bottom in the Scottish Championship.
The Jags have managed just two draws from their opening five matches.
