PARTICK THISTLE have held talks with Ian McCall about replacing Gary Caldwell as manager, with the Ayr United boss mulling over an offer to return to the Firhill club.
Herald Sport understands that Thistle approached Ayr for permission to speak to McCall as well as requesting permission to speak to Clyde manager Danny Lennon and East Fife boss Darren Young.
Lennon has since signed an extension to his deal with the Bully Wee, and Young has not yet spoken to the Jags board.
McCall is the frontrunner for the role, and it is believed he is receptive to the idea of taking over once more at the club where he was manager between 2007 and 2011.
