Celtic star Leigh Griffiths brilliantly silenced a punter on social media after he was trolled over Hibs' derby day defeat to Hearts at Easter Road.

The Hoops striker watched his boyhood club throw away a lead to Craig Levein's side who stole three points late on thanks to an Aaron Hickey strike.

Griffiths - who spent two seasons as a player at Hibs - was targeted by a keyboard warrior who had a go.

Glasgow Times:

In response to a picture of Griffiths posing with a fan outside Parkhead, the user laughed: "His team got f***ed today though".

But never short of patter himself, 29-year-old Griff snapped back: "Pretty sure my team is sitting top of the league Gerry.

"Don't start getting excited after one win now."

The put down landed him more than 6,100 likes and over 400 shares on social media.

And fans loved it.
