Arsenal fans went wild for Kieran Tierney on social media yesterday evening after the defender made his first-team debut.

Left-back Tierney signed for the Gunners on deadline day but has been unable to play due to injury.

His thigh problem and previous hip injuries led to Arsenal sticking with Nacho Monreal in his stead but they've haemorrhaged goals.

Arsenal's Kieran Tierney is throwback in an era of badge-kissing and pandering - no wonder fans love him already

Fans of the Londoners have pined for Tierney since his £25million arrival.

They finally got to see their man in action against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup - and were not left disappointed.

One fan posted online during the game: "We are only 20 minutes in and I can comfortably say that Kieran Tierney is the best Left Back we've had since Ashley Cole".

Another joked: "Kieran Tierney is doing this thing where he crosses the ball and it finds people. So weird."

One commented: "Unai Emery will definitely start Kieran Tierney and Calum Chambers against Manchester United.
