Rangers youngster Aidan Wilson has joined Edinburgh City on a six-month loan deal.

Defender Wilson, 20, joins up with his new teammates at Ainslie Park.

It's his third loan spell away from Ibrox after spending time gaining experience in the Ladbrokes Championship with Dumbarton and League One with Forfar Athletic.

He spent last season with the latter where he made nine first-team appearances.

Wilson made his league debut for Rangers' first-team in 2017 in a clash against Aberdeen at Ibrox.

Manager of the League Two outfit, James McDonaugh, told the club website of his delight at signing the player.

Rangers fans left in lurch as official travel partners Thomas Cook collapse

He said: "I have been in close contact with Rangers and they have been fantastic to deal with when we signed Matthew Shiels and Aidan McAdams.

"When I heard Wilson was available I thought he would do well for us and add depth to an area of the team that we maybe lack a little competition.

"He will need to do well to break into the team though as we have defended extremely well in the last two matches.

"Aidan is recovering from injury right now so first we need to get him back to full fitness then it’s up to him to fight for the jersey."
