Celtic's Calvin Miller has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season.

The Hoops winger underwent an operation after picking up an injury playing for the academy side against Hibs last week.

The exact cause of injury is not yet known but the player shared a snap on his Instagram page from his hospital room.

He said: "Gutted to be out for the rest of the season but surgery went well and I’ll be back stronger - thanks to Shannon and Olivia especially couldn’t have done it without them".

Miller, 21, may well have now therefore played his last game for the Hoops as his contract runs out at the end of the campaign.

The player had previously spent time on loan at Dundee and Ayr United and was reportedly wanted by Kilmarnock as part of the deal taking Greg Taylor the other way.

However after he is believed to have told Killie he didn't fancy the move, Miller has continued not to feature under manager Neil Lennon.

Miller made his Celtic first-team debut against Partick Thistle in 2016 under then-boss Brendan Rodgers.
