Celtic legend John Hartson has hailed Robert Snodgrass as a “top player” and “smashing lad” after the pair met up at Heathrow airport.

Snodgrass is a long time Hoops fan who grew up in the shadow of Celtic Park and even once wore Celtic shorts whilst training as a youth with Rangers.

Hartson took to Twitter to praise the Scotland winger three days before the winger’s international call up.

Snodgrass was picked for Steve Clarke’s Euro 2020 squad for a double-header against Russia and San Marino.

Former Celtic defender Kieran Tierney was set to named in the Scotland squad, however he reportedly pulled out at the final minute due to an injury concern.
