Kieran Tierney has revealed that PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe is the toughest opponent he’s ever faced.

Left-back Tierney recalled the evening in November 2017 when his Celtic side were battered 7-1 by the French giants.

In a conversation with Arsenal teammate Hector Bellerin, Tierney was asked about the opponent who gives him nightmares.

Mark Hendry: Arsenal's Kieran Tierney is throwback in an era of badge-kissing and pandering - no wonder fans love him already

And he didn’t have to think long about naming World Cup winner Mbappe as his tormentor.

He said: “It was Mbappe, he was so quick and that PSG team as a whole.

"It was actually the manager [Unai Emery] who was their manager at the time.

"It was the toughest game I ever played in my career, against Mbappe and Dani Alves down that side.

"The two of them.

"Getting beat 7-1. When you test yourself against the best in the world, you're going to learn from it no matter the result.

"But yeah it was the toughest night."
