Latest coefficient standings would see two Scottish teams in Champions League qualification

Currently, Scotland sits 19th in the coefficient table but would rise to 15th once coefficient has been removed from the 15/16 season. 

At this early stage in the season, if the coefficient position is maintained, it would mean that both the Scottish champions and the runners up would enter the qualification stages for the Champions League for 21/22. 

So far Scotland has amassed 5.750 points, with Spain and the Netherlands the only nation to obtain more coefficient points this season.

National coefficients are based on the results of each association's clubs in the five previous UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League seasons, and with Celtic and Rangers adding to the pot,  the news is certainly positive for Scottish football.

Both sides have picked up a win in the Europa League group stage, with Celtic so far undefeated after two games, while Rangers have suffered a loss.

Nations in the top ten automatically qualify for the Champions League, but in order for Scotland to maintain 15th, both Glasgow sides will need to pick up some more victories in the competition.
