Jordan Rossiter watched Rangers sign a number of midfielders this summer and knew his time was up.

Steven Davis, Glen Kamara, Andy King and even fringe player Greg Docherty all walked through the doors at Ibrox, signalling the end of Rossiter's Gers career.

Star man Ryan Jack was already putting in the work that would go on to make him the first name on Steven Gerrard's team sheet.

But while he's gutted that he didn't make the impact he so desperately hoped for, Rossiter doesn't harbour any ill feeling towards Rangers, or their manager.

Currently on loan at Fleetwood Town, he's still technically on the books at Rangers, despite an acceptance that he'll be permanently leaving the minute there's a chance.

The only regret Rossiter has about his time as a Glasgow local is that he never managed to play in a powderkeg Celtic clash.

Speaking to the Scottish Sun, he said: "Over the summer, I knew that I was not in the plans at Rangers.

"I know the gaffer here [Joey Barton] from his time in Glasgow and although a few other clubs were interested in signing me I know that I’ve made the right choice.

"It’s one of the best changing rooms I’ve been in and I’m loving my football!

"You don’t realise how big Rangers is until you get there.

"You get quite taken aback by it at first - I was getting noticed just walking along the street.

"Unfortunately, I never played in an Old Firm game but spent one on the bench and it was a totally different atmosphere to anything I’d experienced before."
