Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson has backed Kris Ajer to become the Hoops' next big-money sale.

Ajer has been terrific for the Parkhead side since he joined back in 2016 and was recently touted for a potential move to Leicester City under Brendan Rodgers.

Teammate for club and country, Mohamed Elyounoussi has also told of his belief that the Norwegian will have a huge career.

But now Wilson - who played over 130 times for Celtic - has admitted he reckons Ajer could be worth up to £20million should Celts decide to offload at any point.

Though he did, on Ladbrokes Social Club, explain how he hopes the 21-year-old sticks around.

On Ajer, he said: "He's a top player, every week for Celtic he's showing what a top centre-half he is.

"He can play a number of positions and a lot of players there, and guys I've spoken to suggest he's going to be the next big transfer.

"For him I think you're looking at £15m-£20m in a couple of years time.

"Maybe he stays for a couple of years and plays more European football.

"You look at some of the prices they're paying, you can't say he's far away from that."
