Graeme Murty has urged his Rangers youngsters to use their latest defeat as a learning curve after they were destroyed 5-1 by Huddersfield Town yesterday.

The academy Gers capitulated in the second-half of a bounce game against their English opponents after going in at half-time just a goal down.

Flop Eros Grezda scored for the Light Blues but they were taken apart by a brace from Isaac Mbenza and goals from Josh Koroma, Matty Daly and Reece Brown.

Murty admits he was disappointed at his youngster's failures in the match.

But he suggested they learn from it as they're not used to being bettered by such margins.

"It is good understanding for some of the players of where they actually are in the grand scheme of football because sometimes we get a distorted view of Rangers because we are a good team, we play really well, we have good success in Scotland," he told the Rangers website.

"It is not fatal for them, it is great learning experience for them but they need to understand football is hard, it is difficult and you need to have a whole raft of abilities in order to succeed."
