Neil Lennon has provided a fitness update on Olivier Ntcham after the Frenchman missed yesterday's mauling of Ross County.
Ntcham picked up a knock in training in midweek and wasn't risked yesterday afternoon as Celtic romped to victory.
With Lazio in the Europa League coming this Thursday evening, manager Lennon thought it best not to aggravate Ntcham's ankle injury.
And he hopes the precaution will allow the midfield powerhouse to rest up and be ready for Europa League matchday three.
Speaking after the Hoops' 6-0 destruction of the Staggies, Lennon revealed: "Olivier rolled his ankle on Thursday.
"But he had a scan [on Friday] and we’re hoping he should be okay."
Celtic's preparation for the visit of their Serie A counterparts couldn't have been any better.
An early goal from Mohamed Elyounoussi was enough to take into the break at half-time before a barrage of goals allowed the champions to saunter away with the three points.
With Rangers faltering against Hearts this afternoon, Lennon's men remain top of the league on goals scored.
