Andy Murray has been called up to Team GB for the Davis Cup in Madrid next month.

The call from team captain Leon Smith comes just after magnificent Murray won the European Open in Antwerp - his first ATP singles title since 2017.

He beat Stan Wawrinka 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 to cap an emotional return following retirement fears over a hip injury.

He'll now accompany brother Jamie, Dan Evans and Neal Skupski in Madrid next month.

Team GB are in Group E of the finals where they will face Netherlands and Kazakhstan.
