Steven Gerrard has delivered an injury update on loan midfielder Andy King.

The Leicester City star picked up a knock last week and was unable to be involved in yesterday evening's Europa League action in Porto.

Gers manager Gerrard revealed he hoped the player would not miss too much and even went as far as to suggest he may be back in time for Sunday's clash with Motherwell at Ibrox.

And this morning the boss hinted that everything has gone to plan in terms of his return and he's back in training.

One player who Gerrard faces a sweat on for the weekend is Finland ace Glen Kamara.

The ex-Dundee player was sent home ill from Portugal.

"We've got Andy King back today in his first session from his small injury problem," Gerrard said.

"Glen Kamara has been sent home ill but we expect him to be back tomorrow so we'll assess him then.

"Fingers crossed he'll be available for the weekend."

In terms of personnel for Sunday's game, Gerrard plans to make a change or two in a bid to freshen things up but he insists there won't be too many.

He added: "There are a few we've got to think hard about, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack, they've come back their first game and probably played slightly longer than expected.

"We'll have to see how they recover from this game and make late decisions on them.

"There won't be wholesale changes."
