Ex-Rangers striker Kris Boyd reckons his old side can't afford to sell red-hot Alfredo Morelos - even if a staggering £50million bid was to land on the table.

Morelos scored another vital goal as Gers saw off Porto in the Europa League last Thursday.

That strike took his tally to 21 in 25 and Boyd believes El Buffalo has become far too valuable to Steven Gerrard's side.

The former attacker, 36, knows what it takes to win the Scottish Premiership for Rangers.

And that's why he can't see Morelos being sold at ANY price - because he could be the difference between stopping nine in a row for Celtic.

Writing in his Scottish Sun column, Boyd said: "That man Alfredo Morelos  produced again.

"He’s now so important to Rangers that I don’t think they could sell him in January even if a bid of £50million came in.

"Listen, that’s not going to happen, but you cannot underplay how vital he is to Gerrard’s team.

"For me, if they want to have a proper go at stopping nine in a row — which  they clearly do — they couldn’t sell him at any price.

"Gerrard said as much last week after the Betfred Cup semi-final win over Hearts, so I would imagine he’s got guarantees Morelos won’t be sold.

"Rangers’ accounts didn’t look too clever when the figures were announced a few days ago but, at the end of the day, success comes at a price."
