Ex-Celtic star Virgil van Dijk has remembered wondering if Scott Brown would be as "crazy" off-field as he was on the pitch as he pondered signing for the Hoops.
Dutchman van Dijk joined Celts from Groningen back in 2013 and admits he had always heard about Brown's antics.
The main consideration that went through his mind was just how Brown, 34, would be in real life.
The pair went on to win three trophies together before van Dijk departed for the English Premier League with Southampton.
And Virgil, 28, believes Brown is a real club legend.
The best defender in the world also recalled the pressure of being a Hoops player and the expectation on the players.
Speaking to Goal, van Dijk recalled: "Before I made the transfer to Celtic I looked at the team and I think everyone knows about Scott Brown.
"I thought 'how would he be? Will he be as crazy outside the pitch as he is on?'
"Broony makes jokes about being a legend but he's a legend himself."
He added: "The way we played as well, we had 60 percent ball possession at least and were attacking all the time.
"I'd never experienced [that] in my previous career, I was always at teams who had the ball at times but were defending more than attacking.
"If you draw it's not good enough, you have to win."
