WILLIE COLLUM will officiate next month's League Cup final, the Scottish FA have announced.

The referee was the man in the middle for last season's Scottish Cup final, where Celtic defeated Craig Levein's Hearts 2-1 thanks to a late winner from Odsonne Edoaurd.

The Betfred Cup final, contested between Celtic and Rangers, is the first time that the two rivals have met in the final of a national cup competition since 2011.

David Roome and Alan Mulvanny will be the linesmen, while Kevin Clancy will be the fourth official for the Hampden fixture.

The game will be played on Sunday 8 December at the national stadium with a scheduled kick-off time of 3pm.

Collum last took charge of an Old Firm game in September 2018, when Brendan Rodgers' Celtic recorded a 1-0 win over Rangers in Steven Gerrard's first trip to Parkhead as manager of the Ibrox club.
