Steven Gerrard has quashed speculation linking Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara with Juventus.

The Finland star was connected with The Old Lady, according to reports which surfaced yesterday.

They claimed that his form for his country in their Euro 2020 qualifiers had put Juve on alert.

It was also reported Rangers could be set to be tested with an '£8million bid'.

However manager Gerrard rubbished rumours and insisted Maurizio Sarri's giants were not in for the player.

Speaking after his side's 5-0 mauling of Hearts at Ibrox yesterday Gerrard said: "There’s nothing from Juventus with Glen so I think it’s another made-up story.

"There’s a lot going round at the moment about quite a few of my players but there’s no truth in it.

"It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s top clubs looking at Glen - again he was outstanding, lovely to watch - and as a midfielder myself I really admire his bodywork and his shape, the way he receives the ball.

"He’s a very clever footballer and it wouldn’t surprise me if top clubs were monitoring him but there’s no truth in Juventus."
