BAIN: As promised, given the gloves for the final but not a huge amount to do. Watched with some consternation as a Simunovic clearance hit his crossbar and alert to a save from James Wilson in the second period as Aberdeen pushed for a leveller. (7)

LUSTIG: Unnecessarily involved in a tussle as he kept the ball off of Sam Cosgrove in the latter stages of the game and for which the Aberdeen player was booked. Also had a a run-in with Dons kid Lewis Ferguson which could have been avoided. (7)

BENKOVIC: Let fly with a rasping effort shortly after Celtic had missed from the spot but was denied by a decent stop from Lewis. Composed and calm at the back and strolled though the game without incident. (7)

BOYATA: Involved in a sickening clash of heads with Gary Mackay-Steven just before the break. Surprisingly returned to the fray after being stitched and bandaged on the sidelines. Played in the pass for Christie to open the scoring. Off just before the hour mark. (7)

TIERNEY: Usual shift up and down the flank but looked a little jaded, unsurprisingly given the sheet volume of games he has played this season. Enjoyed the celebrations with what is becoming a tradition of reaching for the megaphone. (7)

FORREST: Looked bemused to become the first booking of the game after trampling on Max Lowe. Accidental or not, he went into the book. Worked hard on the flank but incurred the wrath of Sinclair at one point in the opening period for not squaring the ball into the six-yard box. (7)

CHRISTIE: Copped a mouthful from Derek McInnes for an exuberant challenge on Shay Logan in the opening minutes of the game but had the last laugh as he netted the opening goal of the game. Booked for a foul on Shinnie early in the second period. Still enough energy at the death to chase down a late Aberdeen attack. (8)

MCGREGOR: Had Lewis Ferguson on top of him for much of the game which clipped his wings somewhat. Much more creativity and movement once Brown arrived in the second period and caused problems for Aberdeen in the later stages. (7)

ROGIC: Clipped the outside of the post with a raking effort from the edge of the box with just six minutes on the clock. Replaced by Brown midway through the second period. (7)

SINCLAIR: Devastated when he saw his penalty saved by Joe Lewis. Had to be dragged to his feet by Mikael Lustig in the immediate aftermath and lost a little concentration after that. Hit an effort high and wide after being put through by McGregor. (6)

EDOUARD: Dragged Andrew Considine out of position at times but fluffed his lines in the late stages of the game when he had a chance to bury the game. (7)

SIMUNOVIC: Took over from Boyata for the final half hour and almost made an immediate impact on the game; first touch was an attempted clearance which soared over Bain and clipped the crossbar. (5)

BROWN: On for final 25 minutes of the game and immediately involved in the thick of it. Wound up Dons kid Lewis Ferguson as the minutes ticked by. (5)

NTCHAM: Replaced James Forrest for the final five minutes of regulation time as Celtic looked to see the game out. (4)
