I felt for Mikey Johnston in the Rangers game, but it’s a great experience for the boy to have.
He actually started the match brightly, but having come through it now, he will know what it takes at that level.
The important thing from the point of view of developing Johnston is that it won’t have done the boy any harm. Playing against Rangers at Ibrox in front of 50,000 fans screaming at you and up against a team who, on the day, had a greater desire to win, will show him that you don’t always get it your own way.
It will stand him in good stead down the line in his Celtic career.
