Having Kieran Tierney back feels a lot like having a new signing back in the team.

I just think the energy he brings to that left-hand side is so important to the way that Celtic play and I was delighted to see him take the armband for the game against Motherwell.

You forget because Kieran is so young but he does have a tremendous influence on the team. He wears his heart on his sleeve and when he is back in there you appreciate what you don’t have when he is injured.

The timing of his return is perfect.

This is a huge week in terms of the title race. These are the game at Tynecastle and at Easter Road where Rangers will be looking and hoping that Celtic slip up and the last thing you want to do is give anyone any encouragement.

I used to enjoy playing at Tynecastle because it is such an atmospheric stadium with the fans right on top of you but it was the only ground I played at that I did not ever score at.

I scored against Hearts plenty at Celtic Park but I never scored at Tynecastle. Ibrox, Hampden, Pittodrie, Easter Road…but never Tynecastle!

So I know how difficult it is to go there and get a result. Celtic lost their unbeaten record there in December 2017 and then lost in August at the start of this season but I just feel that there they look like a different team since then.

They have been far more cohesive since the turn of the year and you just get the impression that they have kicked on a gear now.

This week is a huge test for them but if they come through both of these game in Edinburgh then you would really fancy them to go and get it over the line as quickly as possible.
