GLASGOW Warriors won the Glasgow City Rugby Sevens Cup at Cartha Queen's Park after beating Glasgow Hawks 26-17 in the final.
The squad for the Legacy Sevens Series event included first-team players such as Scott Wight, Gordon Reid, Niko Matawala and Chris Fusaro, who was making his comeback from injury after five months on the sidelines with a groin problem.
Andy Redmayne, Callum Reid, Murray McConnell, Jack Steele, Bruce Dick and Fraser Thomson were also involved.
CRICKET: Scotland's one-day international match against Pakistan in Edinburgh was cancelled due to a waterlogged outfield.
Meanwhile, England crushed New Zealand by 170 runs in the First Test match at Lord's.
The Black Caps were skittled out for 68 in their second innings, with Stuart Broad taking a career-best seven for 44, and Jimmy Anderson grabbing two wickets.
