Braehead Clan forward Adam Brace believes the team will be up to the task this week as they get ready for their latest double road trip.

The Clan head to Nottingham Panthers on Saturday before returning to Scotland to take on Edinburgh Capitals looking for their first league points of the campaign.

And Brace believes tightening up on errors in the key to success after losses at Milton Keynes Lightning and Coventry Blaze last weekend.

He said: “We went out and played hard in those games last week, but I think small mistakes and things we could easily clean up cost us in the end.

“It was things such as turnovers that we didn’t do well, but I think they were preventable and I believe we’ll be better this weekend.

“We know we’re better than how we performed last week and we know we can improve. We just need to cut down on the mistakes. If we play hard and consistently then I know we’ll be alright.

“We’re a positive group and feeling good about the weekend, plus everyone’s in good shape, healthy and we’ve a new player coming in so we’re ready for the next two games.”

Brace also discussed the travel time the team are doing right now as a consequence of Disney On ice taking up residency throughout September at Braehead Arena.

He admits the journey to practice is a bit draining some days, but reckons the amount of time the team are spending together is helping to forge bonds.

He added: “I don’t think you can ever get used to driving 45 minutes each way just to go to practice, but the travel for the games have been fine.

“The practice times are getting a little draining, but we’ll be back in our home rink soon enough.

“On the up side, the travelling we’re doing at the moment means we’re spending more time together and that helps with the bonding process and helps make us a tighter team.”
