GLASGOW failed to capitalise on injury troubles for Sheffield as their hopes of winning the SGB Championship ended on Tuesday night.
The visitors arrived at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium with a 28-point lead from the first leg of the semi-final, confident of seeing it over the line.
However they were dealt two blows as first Josh Bates and then Josh Grajczonek suffered heavy falls and were forced to withdraw from the match as a precaution.
But the home team couldn't make the most of that, scoring a narrow 34-31 win on the night - with the meeting ended due a 10pm curfew - and never threatening to pull back much of the deficit.
It means Sheffield go through to the final with Ipswich later this week.
Glasgow's only hopes of team silverware now come in the KO Cup, which they're hoping to retain, with a quarter-final against Newcastle to be arranged.
