SCOTLAND striker Jane Ross has signed a two-year contract with Manchester City.

The 26-year-old former Glasgow City player has been in Sweden for the last three seasons, scoring 51 goals in 82 games for Vittsjo.

"I'm really pleased and excited to be spending the next two years at Man City," she said. "I've really enjoyed my time in Sweden.

"It was a challenging league and I think it's going to be similar in England."

Ross joins fellow Scotland international Jenny Beattie at a club which finished second to Chelsea in this year's FA Women's Super League. That guarantees Champions League football in the 2016-17 season.

"Everything at the club – the facilities, the support, the staff – is really impressive," Ross said.

Manchester City manager Nick Cushing said: "We are really happy to have brought Jane in.

"She has unbelievable drive and professionalism. We want more goals in the team and we want to be even better than last season.

"Jane will add some real firepower and a different dimension."

Ross scored twice in Scotland's recent 7-0 win over Belarus, bringing her total to 38 goals in 88 internationals.

She was joint second highest scorer in Europe with 13 goals in the 2015 World Cup qualifiers.
