MALKY Mackay has the chance to audition for the Scotland manager's job this week when the Netherlands visit the north-east.

The national team take on the Dutch at Pittodrie on Thursday in their first fixture since failing to qualify for next summer's World Cup finals in Russia.

Mackay will lead a new-look Scotland squad in an interim capacity as the Scottish FA consider who will succeed Gordon Strachan permanently.

Sky Sports will show the action live, kicking off at 7.45pm.

Meanwhile Nothern Ireland are still in contention for a place in Russia and take on Switzerland in the first leg of their play-off on Thursday.

The game will be on Sky Sports Main Event at 7.45pm.
