PAUL HECKINGBOTTOM insists Hibs will go all out for a win against Rangers this weekend.

The Easter Road men are desperate for points as they try to hunt down Kilmarnock in fourth.

Should Hearts lose the Scottish Cup final against Celtic, that will be good enough to land European qualification.

Heckingbottom has steered Hibs to 10 matches unbeaten in the league since taking over from Neil Lennon in February and they currently sit four points adrift in fifth after last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Hearts.

However, he is fully aware the capital outfit, who have earned three draws against Rangers this season, will be seriously tested at Ibrox on Sunday.

Heckingbottom said: “We’re very much looking forward to Sunday’s game against Rangers and it’s a totally different challenge to last Sunday against Hearts.

“We’ll set up to try to win it and work on that. The players will be ready. It’s a tough, tough game we know that.

"They’ll throw lots of different problems at us and we’ll have to try to hurt them in a different way as well.”

Hibs are unbeaten in their last three trips to face Rangers, drawing 1-1 back on Boxing Day and winning 2-1 and 3-2 at Ibrox last season.

However, Heckingbottom is concentrating on the present, and looking to the future, rather than delving into the past.

He added: “History is history, and it’s great to look back at certain things, but it’s not going to help us in this game.

“We want to keep the season alive as long as we possibly can and we’re looking even longer term; we’re working on things for next season.

“The players are putting everything into it, and getting the rewards at the minute.”
