Scotland star Scott McTominay has added his name to an illustrious list of former video game cover stars - as his face is plastered over the newest edition of Pro Evolution Soccer.

Man United's promising midfielder poses on the front of the box alongside Lionel Messi, Serge Gnabry and Miralem Pjanic for the 2020 game.

McTominay played just 16 times for the Red Devils last season but was hailed for his performances in Europe against the likes of PSG.

And in his United home kit, the Scot doesn't look out of place below five-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi.

But social media has had plenty to say about the 22-year-old's inclusion on the box - with a number of punters wondering "what he's done to deserve" the accolade.

One joked: "What a superb agent that boy has".

Another laughed: "Scott McTominay the most inexplicable cover star of a football computer game since Notts County's Andy Legg".

A fourth added: "Scott McTominay is on the front of pro evo wow hahaha".

Others were happier for the midfielder, with some crediting him as United's best player last season.
