GREG Docherty could become the third arrival of the January window at Ibrox after Rangers made an approach to Hamilton on Friday.
Boss Graeme Murty has already added Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy to his squad in recent days.
And he has now turned his attentions to Docherty as he looks to secure further reinforcements before the end of the window.
The 21-year-old is under contract at the SuperSeal Stadium until 2020 and has emerged as one of the brightest talents in the Premiership in recent seasons.
Rangers have now opened dialogue with Hamilton about Docherty but no official bid has been tabled yet.
