STEVEN GERRARD hopes to retain the services of keeper Wes Foderingham until the end of the season.
The Ibrox boss completed a move for former Liverpool kid Andy Firth on Friday as he penned an 18-month deal to replace Robby McCrorie following his loan switch to Morton.
Gerrard will make a decision over trialist shot-stopper Stefan Marinovic in the coming days but is keen for Foderingham to continue challenging first choice Allan McGregor.
He said: “I want Wes to stay here for the remainder of the season.
“I also understand the situation, he’s desperate to be a No.1. I don’t want to stay Wes is 100 per cent staying because I don’t know what the next few days will bring.
“I want to keep him, I want him to push Allan to play. Of course we all know things can change.”
