RYAN JACK hopes Rangers can start to build some momentum in the coming weeks after successive league and cup wins since their costly defeat to Kilmarnock.

The Light Blues lost crucial ground in the Premiership title race as they went down 2-1 at Rugby Park last week.

But after getting back to winning ways at Livingston on Sunday, Steven Gerrard’s side set up another meeting with Killie by overcoming Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup on Wednesday night.

Jack said: “I am enjoying my football, it is probably the most I have enjoyed my football. I am playing with that freedom and the manager believes in me.

“He just tells me to go out and do my stuff every week that I do every day in training, but I am delighted with the way the team is going and we will move on now.

“It was obviously a big disappointment [in the Betfred Cup] and there was no doubt we were disappointed with that.

“But we have worked hard over the January break. We lost to Kilmarnock and had to show ourselves and we had to answer it like we did on Sunday.

“We won [on Wednesday night] so we are starting to gather a bit of momentum and we just need to keep that going.”

First half goals from Andy Halliday, Lassana Coulibaly and Kyle Lafferty won it for Rangers against their League Two hosts.

David Cox pulled one back for the Blue Brazil early in the second half but there was no cup shock at Central Park.

Jack said: “I think we started the match really well, we got ourselves in front and at half-time we were just saying to keep it positive, keep going and get more goals.

“Credit to Cowdenbeath, they made it tough for us in the second half and it was tough conditions. But, it is a win and we will take it and move on.

“I think when you come away in these ties it is always tricky. The pitch is tough, they are obviously out to prove a point playing Rangers and everyone wants to do well. We will just take the win and move on.”
