HAMILTON midfielder Darren Lyon says that Saturday’s game against Partick Thistle has now become a must-win for Accies after their disappointing defeat to Rangers on Sunday.
Lyon got his second goal of the season in the match, and his second against Rangers, but Martin Canning’s side still fell to an astonishing 5-3 defeat.
And Lyon believes that it is imperative for the Lanarkshire side to tighten up at the back if they are to have any chance of winning the three points.
“It’s important that we move on and pick ourselves up for next week,” Lyon told the club website. “We know that Partick Thistle will be tough, and it’s a must win game for us now.
“The goals we conceded were preventable. We managed to draw level at 2-2, and it was so important to keep it tight, but to concede so soon again is disappointing.”
“At half time he just stressed that we needed to keep things tighter at the back and try and get the next goal. We thought we still had a chance but unfortunately they’ve gone and scored another which was a hammer blow.”
