QUEEN fans with tickets for a cancelled Glasgow Green concert say they're still waiting for refunds more than six weeks after the concert was due to take place.

Symphonic Queen was set for July 31 and boasted original cast members of the West End musical We Will Rock You as well as a spectacular firework finale.

But as reported in the Evening Times, organisers pulled the plug a week before it was due to go ahead after a row with the city council.

Promoters Ingenious would not say how many of the 6000 tickets had been sold and, despite initially saying they may reschedule it for another venue, it has now been cancelled.

John McAuley, whose wife Margaret Rose bought tickets for his 57th birthday, claims he was rebuffed by the firm when he asked for a refund of the £50 spent on tickets.

The tax manager, from Cleland, Lanarkshire, said: "I was disappointed the concert wasn't taking place and I just want my money back.

"I've e-mailed the firm six times but they keep saying it's nothing to do with them. There must be lots of people in this situation."

Another fan is also trying to find out what's going on. Hospital equipment engineer Fiona Hillard, 42, from Parkhouse, Glasgow, said she had been planning to go with her husband Gary, 36.

Fiona says she's tried calling the firm more than half a dozen times, but never gets an answer.

She said: "If it's not going ahead I want my money back."

Malcolm Cannon, from Ingenious, said Mr McAuley would get his cash and claimed ticket-holders normally have to wait a lot longer fora refund when a concert is cancelled.

He said "We said at the start of September we would make a decision over what we were going to do.

We are processing refunds at the moment. Most ticket providers don't guarantee your refund for three months."

Ingenious's other show, Retrofest, was switched from Glasgow Green to another venue because of a row over historic chemical contamination in Richmond Park.
