Troubled toy giant Toys ‘R’ Us has launched a massive closing down sale as four Scottish stores prepare to shut.

This week, the retailer is offering up to 30% off everything in store, news which will be welcomed by toy-lovers across the land.

New parents will also be able to pick up essentials, such as car seats and pushchairs as Babies ‘R’ Us is also included in the closing down deals.

“Everything in store has been marked down and has to go, so please hurry to avoid disappointment,” said the company.

Unfortunately, the discounts are only available in store and not online.

Offers can be grabbed at the following four Scots stores: Aberdeen, East Kilbride, Kirkcaldy and Livingston.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, four Toys R Us stores are closing in Scotland as part of plans to "better serve" customers in the future.

Evening Times:

The retailer is shutting 25 of its UK premises as part a company voluntary agreement (CVA), putting up to 800 jobs at risk.

Steve Knights, managing director of Toys R Us UK, said: “The vote in favour of the CVA represents strong support for our business plan and provides us with the platform we need to transform our business so that we can better serve our customers today and long into the future.”

All stores across the UK will remain open for business until spring 2018.

The toy retailer said it ha started consultations with employees.

CVA proposals were launched on Monday, December 4 and approved by 98% of the company's creditors that week.
