A PERSON has been hit by a train travelling between Ayr and Maybole.
The news was broken by ScotRail as the public transport provider took to Twitter to warn services would be disrupted until later this morning.

They Tweeted: “NEW: Sadly, due to a person being struck by a train between Ayr & #Maybole, services may be disrupted until at least 10:45 today.”

Customers were advised to speak to station staff or use platform help points for further information and where attempts will be made to arrange alternative road transport.
