THE funeral of a young girl who died in her sleep will take place on Tuesday in Glasgow.
Amanpreet Kaur, 9, died at her home in Pollokshields and the cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
Her grief-stricken mother and father, Gurnam Kaur and Rocky Singh said they had been greatly comforted by the results of the post mortem which confirmed that she died peacefully.
The schoolgirl was the grand-niece of Glasgow restaurateur Satty Singh.
A service to celebrate the life of Amanpreet, which translates as lover of peace, will take place at 11am in Linn Crematorium and the family is inviting mourners to make a donation to Mary's Meals.
The charity has set up a special site in her memory where donations made in her name will be used to feed children in Malawi.
A statement from the family said: "Amanpreet was a happy girl who brought great joy to the lives of those who knew her.
"She lived with a smile on her face and dreamed of becoming a teacher.
"She derived great pleasure from going to school at Our Lady of the Rosary in Cardonald, where she became involved in raising money for under-privileged children in Malawi. It was a cause close to her heart and her parents have decided to continue her good work."
