A WOMAN who died after a head-on road crash in Ayrshire has been named by police.
Kirsty McBryde, 37, died following an accident on the A736 near Burnhouse in North Ayrshire on Saturday.
She was driving a grey Seat Ibiza southbound at around 6.10pm when it was in collision with a bronze Renault Grand Scenic being driven northbound.
The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 57-year-old male Renault driver was taken to hospital with leg injuries.
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Irvine Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3239.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
