TRANSPORT cops are hunting for a gang of men who were chanting sectarian songs on a train before the Old Firm on Sunday.

British Transport Police said they are investigating the hate crime on board a train between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The incident happened on board a ScotRail service between the two cities at approximately 9am to 9.44am on Sunday, March 11.

A passenger reported to the force that a group of males were chanting songs of a sectarian nature.

At Glasgow Queen Street, the train was met by BTP officers and they spoke and took the details of a man in connection.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to get in touch to understand exactly what happened and who was responsible.
