VISITORS to Glasgow Quay could have three new restaurants to choose from, if plans are given the go-ahead.

Plans have been submitted for three eateries to be built directly in front of the existing Odeon cinema to complement the existing facilities.

Although the identities of the potential new businesses are unknown, early plans suggest that dessert emporium Los Churros Amigos and a new pizza restaurant may be among the additions.

A statement by Ryden, acting on behalf of the Strathclyde Pension Fund, states: “The brief is to provide three efficient commercial units with appropriate scale so they naturally integrate with the existing urban realm and new branding strategy.

“The concept should help break down the scale of the Odeon facade, maintaining the relationship between existing tenants and add to the success of the rebrand.”

As previously reported by the Evening Times, the Glasgow Quay Odeon underwent a huge makeover.

A number of screens were upgraded to include luxury reclining seats and high definition screens.

Plans for the three new restaurants have been submitted to Glasgow City Council.
