A SCHOOLBOY has been arrested following a fire within a derelict hotel in Hamilton.
The arrest of the 14-year-old comes after firefighters rushed to tackle the blaze at the Hamilton Town Hotel on Wednesday afternoon.

At its height, around 25 firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and there was no injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.55pm on Wednesday, June 20, police were called to a report of a fire in Townhead Street, Hamilton.”
“Emergency services attended, and following a joint investigation between police and fire services the incident was confirmed as wilful.
“A 14-year-old boy was arrested and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the incident.”
