It is not an easy thing to do as the history books will show, but I do believe that this is a Celtic side who are capable of going through the season unbeaten.

I would never have said it during my time as a manager but I also think that this could well be the year in which they deliver a Treble too.

I said at the end of last season just as Ronny Deila was leaving Celtic and Brendan Rodgers was arriving that this was a team that did not require major surgery, and so it has transpired.

But what you have now is a team who has a lot of resolve, who play with a bit of character.

What Rodgers has instilled in this Celtic squad is a belief – collectively and individually. There is a very obvious team spirit in evidence and the players are performing with confidence not just in themselves and their own abilities but in one another as well.

Dermot Desmond loosened the purse strings a little this summer by going out all out to get Rodgers – and there has been an immediate reward for that this season. Similarly, Dembele and Scott Sinclair have commanded decent salaries but they have added hugely to the current squad.

That same level of investment again is what can enhance Celtic as they look to kick on again but what is clear on the evidence of these opening months of the season is that they have an air about them that will make them very hard to beat this season domestically.
