WES FODERINGHAM admits Rangers were outworked in the Highlands as they dropped another two Premiership points against Ross County.

Mark Warburton’s side were held to a 1-1 draw in Dingwall on Sunday after Andrew Davies cancelled out Clint Hill’s early opener.

The Light Blues boss was unhappy with a sloppy showing from his side that did little to ease the pressure after a lacklustre start to the campaign.

And keeper Foderingham was frustrated with a flat performance as County emerged with a deserved share of the spoils to leave the Gers third in the standings.

He said: “We are still disappointed and we know that we should have done better and we could have performed better.

“We just didn’t really play the type of football that we wanted to play. We were sloppy in possession and they just overran us.

“I would even say that they worked harder than us and that is unusual because we are a very honest side and that part of the game is always there.

“These things happen and we need to work hard on the training pitch and make sure that the next game is a better performance.

“Movement off the ball and doing things sharper makes things so much easier, especially with us trying to play out from the back.

“When we are more dynamic and the spacing is correct it is a lot easier to get out and I think that is what was lacking on Sunday.

“It wasn’t quick enough, we didn’t get in the right positions quick enough and we didn’t take care of the ball, myself included.

“We need to be better in that aspect. We have shown on occasions this season that we can be and there are rewards when we are better.”

Rangers will return to action after the international break when Dundee visit Ibrox next weekend as they bid to get back on track in the top flight.

The Gers are a point adrift of Aberdeen in the battle to be best of the rest behind runaway league leaders Celtic this term.

And Foderingham knows Warburton’s side have to put together a sustained run of form if they to clinch second spot on their Premiership return.

“The performances have been there in patches but we will be the first to admit that we have been far from consistent and we haven’t been as good as we like to be as often as we would like to be,” he told the Official Rangers Podcast.

“The only positive thing we can take from that is that we are still in touch. We haven’t got going at all this season and we are still up there.

“We can take a positive, if you like, from that and what we have got to do now is build momentum and be better week on week.”
