CELTIC winger Jonny Hayes says he hasn't heard about any interest from Cardiff City as deadline day approaches.

The Irishman arrived at Parkhead from Aberdeen this summer, but has been the subject of speculation that the Championship club are eyeing up a loan offer.

Patrick Roberts returned to the Scottish champions earlier this week, increasing the Irishman's competition for places in Brendan Rodgers' squad.

But Hayes has insisted that it is nothing but a rumour at this stage.

When asked if there was anything to the speculation, he replied: "No, not that I know of, anyway. To be honest with you, you just see these sort of things on social media crop up now and again, but nothing that I know of, anyway.

"It was actually one of my pals sent me a screenshot of something or other and he said, 'Any truth in that?'. As far as I'm aware there's none, anyway, so I'm not exactly sure where it came from."
