WES FODERINGHAM is confident Rangers can pick up where they left off as they bid for a tenth successive Championship triumph this weekend.

Mark Warburton’s side rounded off the first quarter of the campaign with a 3-1 win over Falkirk before the international break as they took their second tier tally to a maximum 27 points.

The visit of Queen of the South on Saturday is next on the Gers’ agenda as they bid to maintain the momentum and consolidate their early advantage in the title race.

And keeper Foderingham admits Warburton’s squad are keen to get back down to business as they prepare for the Doonhamers duel.

He said: “It was good to get a rest. We have had a busy start to the season and managed to win a lot of games so the gaffer gave us some time off during the break.

“It was nice to get some time off. When you have so many games in a short space of time, you don’t really have a chance to relax and switch off.

“So to have a few days to forget about football and recharge the batteries was good.

“Training this week has been good. We have had some good sessions and the intensity has been high to get us back to where we need to be.

“It has been good so far and we will focus on the more tactical points over the next couple of days before the game. We are raring to go for Saturday.”

Rangers will head into the Queens clash with a nine point advantage at the top of the Championship standings and determined to extend their winning run.

It has been an encouraging start to the season for the Light Blues as they have turned in a series of impressive performances.

But Foderingham, speaking at a Rangers Soccer Schools event at the Ibrox complex, insists Warburton and his players won’t get ahead of themselves as they eye the second tier crown this term.

He said: “The thought for us is always to get wins and we will go into the game with the same mentality and same desire as we have had in every game so far this season.

“We expect to win and hopefully we can go out and put in another good performance.

“It has been a great team effort so far. From the management to the staff to the players, everyone has put in a great effort and everyone is pulling their weight.

“There is nobody slacking, we are all giving 100% and working hard. We have only had a short space of time together and the squad has changed a lot.

“We are still gelling but I am sure we will kick on even further.”
