Tributes have been paid to a young man found dead two weeks after disappearing.

Justin Conroy was reported missing from his Dumbarton home on Sunday September 23.

The body of the 24-year-old was recovered from the River Clyde around 10.25am on Saturday.

Police are treating the death as unexplained.

Friends of Justin have taken to social media to pay their respects following the tragic news.

Diego Garcia wrote on Facebook: "Rest In Peace Justin Conroy . Gutted to hear the news this morning. No seen u much since u went to Australia, but would still get random messages at all hours tellin me about banhin tunes. one of the main troops back in the day. God bless bro."

Ian Simpson wrote: "Rip Justin Conroy thoughts are with the family! Will never forget the mad house parties back in the day."

John Brown said: "Such a shame, Rip Justin from all the rangers family we send our condolences to your friends and family at this tragic time. YNWA"

Justin's family previously launched an emotional appeal for information on his whereabouts.

His mum Fiona said: "He is a positive boy and always looked on the bright side. He is a keen football fan and enjoys playing computer games. He is always keen to cook for us and likes to show off his culinary skills."

A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are currently treating as unexplained.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
