A MAN is in serious condition after being hit by a car in Ayrshire.
The 67-year-old was struck while walking east along the A71 near Galston around 5.20pm on Boxing Day.
A black Land Rover Discovery, which had been overtaking a single decker bus, is understood to have hit the man.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Police are appealing for witnesses to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sergeant Ian Thornton, Irvine Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen either the man walking along the A71 prior to the incident, or the incident take place.
“You may have dash-cam footage that could help us, think back, were you on the A71 in this area yesterday evening?
“Anyone with information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 2625.”
