A TEENAGE girl has been hit by a vehicle on a major city centre street.

The youngster was hit around 3.10pm on Renfield Street, near to Glasgow Central station.

She was rushed by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children.

Her condition is not known.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 3.10pm, police were called to a report of a teenage girl being struck by a vehicle on Renfield Street.

"She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
