A flood alert has been issued for Glasgow and much of the west of Scotland ahead of this afternoon as the city is battered by winds and rain.
On Thursday evening the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) shared the warning, alerting those living in and around the city of the dangers which could face them on Friday.
Primarily in place for coastal flooding, areas of Glasgow, Renfrew and Dumbarton could all be affected given their proximity to the River Clyde.

The main warning comes ahead of high tide in the Firth of Clyde which could see large waves batter flood barriers and low-lying roads affected.

High tide is expected to peak at around 2.30pm this afternoon, with anticipated disruption to continue into the evening and possibly the weekend.
Experts have warned that impacts could include flooding to low-lying land and roads, as well as spray and wave overtopping around this time.
More severe flood warnings have also been put in place specifically for Renfrew and Dumbarton, who are expected to be hit the worst by Storm Erik.

In a statement SEPA confirmed that they are continuing to monitor the siutation.
They said: "SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and further updates will appear here if the situation changes.
"Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.

Earlier this week a Met Office severe weather warning was put in place for Glasgow and Scotland as high winds and heavy rain landed in the country.

This period of adverse weather is expected to last until 6pm on Friday but will resume in the early hours of Saturday morning.
