A NEW multi-million pound hotel has opened in Govan.

The 60-room Travelodge site, which includes an on-site restaurant named Bar-Cafe, completed development in January, ahead of schedule.

The site at Linthouse Road was bought by a private investor for £5.26million.

The sale, which was completed by Linthouse Business Park Ltd, marks the completion of the development.

As previously reported, hundreds of jo applications were made to the hotel despite there only being 15 positions available.

Speaking at the time, manager Shelby McKinnon said: "I am overwhelmed by the amazing response I received for the 15 positions I advertised to join my new team.

"I was looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering great customer service and I am delighted that I now have a great team of local people in place.

"My focus right now is to train my team up so that we can hit the ground running when our hotel opens this spring as we are set for a busy year ahead."

The multi-million pound hotel, which is located close to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, is the compnay's seventh in Glasgow and its 45th across Scotland.
